NIFW Career Mentoring Program

Are there dilemmas you’re facing in your field of work where you would benefit from connecting with a more seasoned follower of Jesus, to discuss your challenges, questions, and vision for what it looks like to bring a Christian worldview to the way you approach your work? Do you wonder if it is even possible for a follower of Jesus to serve faithfully in your field? Are you considering a career transition? The NIFW Career Mentoring Program provides an opportunity for followers of Jesus to connect in conversation around these kinds of questions.

What is the NIFW Career Mentoring Program?

The NIFW Career Mentoring Program is a ministry that connects Christians who are newer to their field of work, newer to following Christ, or considering a career change with seasoned followers of Jesus who work in the same industry or one that is adjacent to have conversations about what it looks like to engage their field, workplace, and community in light of the gospel.

Who can be mentored?

The NIFW Career Mentoring Program is open to Christians in the Nashville area who are seeking to understand more deeply how following Jesus can inform the way we approach our career and the challenges and opportunities each of us are presented with in our field of work.

The ideal Mentee is someone who is newer to their field of work, newer to following Christ, or considering a career change.

Mentors are available in fields such as Business Management & Leadership, Medicine, Law, Public Service, Education, Parenting, Music & Arts, Ministry, Non-Profit Leadership, Real Estate, Consulting, and more.

Who can be a Mentor?

NIFW Career Mentors are seasoned followers of Jesus who are experienced in their career and committed to serving God and others to the best of their ability in their respective field. Mentors serve in this role from a place of humility in Christ and desire to care for those “who are where they once were.”

If serving as an NIFW Career Mentor is an opportunity that you would like to explore, please email Info@NIFW.org to connect for a conversation.

What does the Mentorship process look like?

Once an application to be mentored is received, NIFW Staff will make every effort to identify a suitable Mentor for each Mentee in their own field or one that is adjacent in a timely manner.

Once connected via email, the commitment for Mentors and Mentees is to meet for two meetings that may last from 60-90 minutes each. Meetings will take place at a time and public location decided on by mutual agreement. Further meetings are optional, but may be arranged by the Mentor/Mentee according to time and interest.

What will we talk about?

While Career Mentoring conversations are open-ended and can be tailored to each individual and field of work. However, Sample Conversation Guides will be provided to give an example of the type of content that can be fruitful to discuss in each meeting.

What is the cost?

Participation in the NIFW Career Mentoring Program is free of charge.

What is the NIFW Career Mentoring Program NOT?

As a ministry designed to cultivate personal and spiritual growth around faith and work integration in a relational setting, the NIFW Career Mentor Program is not a forum for seeking employment opportunities, recruiting employees, or soliciting business.
